The park is located on the shores of Charleston Lake with the beaches for swimming and lots of water surface to explore. The exposed underwater rocks are mainly covered by invasive zebra mussels, so swim carefully. The bays of fresh water are separated by the rocks of the Canadian Shield. Needless to say that the landscapes are spectacular.

The park offers canoe and kayak rentals. Roll the image around to see the location by the day use beach.

You can reach to some vantage points in the park by canoe or kayak, or on foot staying on hiking trails.

The park has spots for tents and trailers, few of them with waterfront access. There were several yurts in the park as of 2015. There is enough flash toilets across the property.
