Cedar Point New York State Park is located on St-Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands area.
The park has no waterfront sites, but it offers beautiful water view, the beach and the boat launch.
Campsite 4, the fire pit and the barrier the campers are not supposed to cross. |
Reverse view including same red chairs and the fire pit as in the photo immediately above. |
While most of the campsites are set away from the water in tight compounds, the sites 3, 4 and 5 are somewhat separate from the main group of the sites.
The site 4 has enough room for a tent, a shelter and a car.
Take a step back, and you can see white tent on the right - that is your site 5 neighbour. The tiny green tent on the left site is your site 3 neighbour.
And a little bit wider view of the site 4. The red truck on the right is your site 3 neighbour. It is hard to say anything about the white trailer and the black car further back on the right. That lot is not marked on a map as a designated site. You can also see a house on adjacent private property on the right.
The river is beautiful. Occasionally one can see large cargo boats passing by.
Overall impression: the park is not very large and houses medium number of tents and trailers in tight community. It may work if you are coming in the company of good friends.
In may be not for those seeking privacy. There is none.
The shower facilities are dispersed throughout the park quite regularly, all well maintained, some newly built, as observed in 2015.
